Are There Regulations For The Hours A Minor May Be Employed?

On school days, during school hours, minors under the age of sixteen can't work without a School Release Permit. After school hours, minors under the age of sixteen can't work in excess of six hours or between the hours of 9:30 PM and 5 AM unless the next day is not a school day. No employer can work a minor (under 18) more than forty hours in a week or more than eight hours in any twentyfour hour period. For additional information, refer to the Colorado Youth Employment Opportunity Act .
