What recourse does an employee have under Washington law if he or she is unable to obtain his or her final paycheck from a former employer?

If an employee is unable to obtain his or her final paycheck from a former employer, the employee can contact the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries, in order to file a wage claim against the employer. An employee can also obtain the assistance of a private attorney, or file a wage claim in small claims court.
