      <description>If an injury that occurs at work results in a temporary inability to perform the duties of your job, your employer&amp;rsquo;s workers&amp;rsquo; compensation insurance carrier will cover your lost wages and medical bills relating to the injury during the time you are unable to work.&amp;nbsp; Most jurisdictions require a &amp;ldquo;waiting period&amp;rdquo; that ranges from 3 to 7 days, and upon expiration of that waiting period workers&amp;rsquo; compensation insurance will begin covering your lost wages.&amp;nbsp; Most jurisdictions also set a period of time (usually longer than the &amp;ldquo;waiting period&amp;rdquo;), and if an injury that prevents you from working lasts as long as that period, workers&amp;rsquo; compensation insurance will cover you expenses retroactively, including the days missed during the &amp;ldquo;waiting period.&amp;rdquo;</description>
