If I Am Injured On The Job Can I Choose The Doctor Who Treats Me?

The employer is responsible for furnishing the initial medical treatment at an employerdesignated office or facility. After this initial treatment, the employee may choose an attending physician.

You may choose an attending physician only after first seeing an employerdesignated medical practitioner, if the employer offers one. An employee may choose any medical practitioner on the approved list of medical practitioners of the Workers` Compensation Commission Chairman who is licensed to practice in Connecticut, including practitioners of chiropractic, medicine, naturopathy, optometry, osteopathy, and podiatry.
