What Is The Weekly Benefit Amount?

The weekly benefit amount is set at onehalf of an individual's average weekly wage rounded down to the nearest even dollar amount. A limitation on this is that it is not to exceed onehalf of the State Average Weekly Wage as calculated annually. The potential Weekly Benefit Amount can be calculated by finding the earnings from the quarter in the most money was paid, divided by 13 to get the average weekly wage, then divided again in half, and rounded down to the next even dollar amount.

The maximum amount of benefits payable on a claim is one third of the base period wages, or twentysix times the weekly benefit amount, whichever is less.
