Can An Employer Terminate An Employee Without Notice Or Reason?

Colorado follows the doctrine of "employment at will" which means an employer can terminate employment at any time with or without cause and with or without notice. If the employee feels it is a matter of discrimination, he or she may contact the Colorado Division of Civil Rights or the Federal Equal Opportunity Commission. The employee can also consult an attorney for advice on the possibility of filing a civil lawsuit.
