What Is Involved With Establishing A Child Support Order?

The Division of Child Support Enforcement will ask the Family Court to establish a child support order if none exists. This process will result in an order that sets a monthly amount of money to be paid by a noncustodial parent for the support of a child. The amount of support is determined by a formula called the Delaware Support Formula. DCSE will also establish a medical support order for the noncustodial parent or custodial parent on behalf of the child.
