Maryland Code Annoated Section 18-60.1 provides that: A person with HIV who knowingly transfers or attempts to transfer the virus to another individual is guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine not exceeding $2,500 or imprisonment not exceeding 3 years, or both.
