What Is The Dog And Cat Sterilization Act?

Under the Dog and Cat Sterilization Act, no dog or cat maybe be released from any adoption agency unless the animal has been surgically spayed or neutered, rendering the animal unable to reproduce. However, a dog or cat may be released to the adopting party if that person ensures that the adopted animal will be spayed or neutered, and deposits a specified amount to the adoption agency not less than ten dollars ($10).
