Can I Be Exempt From Ce Requirements?

If an agent has retired or no longer acts as an agent but is required, by contract with an insurer, to maintain his or her license for the purpose of receiving renewal commission or deferred compensation , the agent may file an affidavit with the Department of Insurance requesting exemption from continuing education requirements. Agents shall not sell, solicit, negotiate, or service any insurance or annuity contracts as long as this Affidavit is on file and the Continuing Education exemption is in place. The Affidavit may be withdrawn by terminating the exemption, in writing, and attaching proof of completion of the continuing education requirements for the previous continuing education biennium.
