What happens if a complaint is filed against me with the State of Wisconsin Medical Examining Board?

The Board first screens the complaint to determine if an investigation is warranted. If an investigation is deemed to be warranted then the matter is investigated by an investigator and attorney according to an investigative plan. The results are discussed with a case advisor. If no violation is found to have occurred then the complaint is dismissed. Otherwise, the case enters the legal action stage where attorneys pursue disciplinary action either through a settlement or a formal hearing.
