What happens if a complaint is filed against me with the Washington State Board of Health?
When a complaint is filed, the Board determines whether the allegations constitute a violation of law and whether the Board has jurisdiction to hear the complaint. If both criteria are met then an investigation is conducted. Investigators, attorneys and the Attorney General’s office work together during the investigation phase to evaluate the evidence that is gathered. If the investigation indicates that a violation of law occurred then a panel of Board members is convened to determine what action to take against the licensee.
