What is the potential liability in a medical malpractice case in North Dakota?

While North Dakota does not have a cap on economic damages in medical malpractice cases, the legislature has enacted a law that provides for judicial review of any jury verdict of more than $250,000 in economic damages. Non-economic damages are capped at $500,000.
