What is the potential liability in a medical malpractice case in Nevada?

Defendants in Nevada medical malpractice lawsuits are potentially liable for $350,000 of noneconomic damages for things such as pain and suffering. Defendants are only liable for punitive damages if the court finds that the defendant was guilty of fraud, oppression or malice. If the court makes such a finding then punitive damages of up to $300,000 or three times the compensatory damages award may be awarded.
