What happens if a complaint is filed against me with the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure?

Once a complaint is received, a medical investigator from the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure is assigned to the case. The investigator investigates the complaint and submits a written report to the Inquiry Panel of the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure. The Inquiry Panel then reviews the report and decides whether the case should be dismissed or whether the case should proceed. If the Board determines that a doctor violated the law or regulation it may decide to allow the doctor to come into compliance and / or issue sanctions against the doctor.
