What is the potential liability in a medical malpractice case in Indiana?

Indiana law limits the total potential damages in a medical malpractice case to $1,250,000 with only $250,000 recoverable from each individual defendant. If a jury finds that a plaintiff is entitled to more than $1.25 million dollars in damages then the plaintiff may be compensated from the Patient Compensation Fund.
