Where and When do Foreclosure Sales Take Place in Washington D.C.?

Foreclosures of Washington D.C. properties occur pursuant to a power of sale clause in individual mortgage agreements. The power of sale clause may indicate the date, time and location of the foreclosure sale. If it does not then the date, time and location of the intended sale can be set by the lender but must occur 30 or more days after the Notice of Sale was sent to the Washington D.C. mayor’s office.
