What Steps are Necessary to Enter a Valid Premarital Agreement in Massachusetts?

Massachusetts law requires that premarital agreements, also known as antenuptial settlements, be documented in writing. A schedule that clearly describes the property that is affected by the agreement must be attached to the agreement. The schedule must be filed with the registry of deeds in order to be enforceable with third parties, such as creditors.
