Either the petitioner or the respondent must be a Kansas residence for at least 60 days immediately preceding the filing of the divorce petition. (Kansas Statutes Chapter 60, Article 16, Section 1603) A divorce petition should be filed in district court ((Kansas Statutes Chapter 60, Article 16, Section 1601)
