What Is Embezzlement?
Embezzlement is the act of taking money that has been placed in your trust but belongs to someone else. For example, someone who works at a bank may secretly steal money that they were supposed to put into a vault. The money does not belong to that person, rather it belongs to the bank’s customer (the one who gave the teller the money).
