The results of clinical studies with one drug in a given class do not necessarily apply to other drugs in the same class. Chronic use of NSAIDs has risks which include abdominal pain, nausea, indigestion, gastrointestinal (stomach) bleeding, as well as liver and kidney (renal) toxicity. However, COX2 inhibitors generally do not have as high a risk for gastrointestinal problems.
