How many days does a landlord in South Dakota have to return a renter's security deposit?
Section 43-33-24 of the South Dakota Codified Laws Annotated provides that a landlord must give a tenant written notice within two week of the tenant vacating the property if the landlord is withholding any portion of the security deposit. If the tenant requests an itemized list the landlord must provide it within 45 days.
