Is It A Felony To Harass A Police Dog?

It is not a felony to harass a police dog. It is, however, a misdemeanor to intentionally harass or cause physical injury to a police dog, and a felony to intentionally cause serious physical harm or death to a police dog. The punishment for causing serious physical harm or death can be up to 5 years in prison, a fine of up to $10,000 or both. Additionally, if you intentionally harass or cause physical injury to a police dog, which is not considered a serious physical injury, while you are committing another crime you will be guilty of a felony and subject to the same penalties listed above.
