How Is Cruelty To Animals Defined?

Any person is guilty of being cruel to animals if they intentionally kill, injure, maim, torture, burn or mutilate any animal. In addition, any person can be guilty of cruelty to animals if they intentionally abandon or leave any animal in any place without making provisions for its proper care, or is present and intentionally fails to provide food, water, protection from the elements, opportunity for exercise and other care as is needed for the health or well­being of the animal.
