What Can Happen If My Dangerous Dog Bites Somebody?

If your dog, that has previously been found to be a dangerous dog, bites another person, domesticated animal or livestock without being provoked you, as the owner, may face misdemeanor criminal charges and even felony charges if your dangerous dog causes severe injury or death to another human being. Also, if a dangerous dog bites a human, domesticated animal or livestock without being provoked the dog may be confiscated by animal control, and placed in holding for 10 days, at the end of which the dog can be killed. You will have the opportunity to set a hearing to challenge any allegations before your dog is killed.
