Will Other Income Reduce My Benefits?

Vacation, holiday and severance pay reduce your benefits when paid under certain conditions. If you receive these types of pay when you leave your job, you must report this information when you file your claim.

Social Security will reduce your weekly benefit amount. Other retirement pensions will reduce your weekly benefit amount if the employment the pension is based upon is also your base period employment.
