What Is Renters Insurance?
Renters' insurance covers liability that may arise from your dwelling if you do not own the home/apartment. It also insures your personal possessions should they be lost or damaged. Basically, the protections under a renters' insurance policy are the same as a homeowners' policy. The owner of the building is still responsible for insuring the building itself and for the liability coverage surrounding common areas of the dwelling.
