What Are The General Guidelines For An Insurance License?
To be licensed in Louisiana you must meet two basic requirements: you must be trustworthy and you must be competent. You will be asked a number of background questions in the application and your answers to these questions help determine your trustworthiness. For the major lines of insurance, a competency examination is required and passage will demonstrate your mastery of an entrylevel knowledge of insurance laws and regulations and the products and services available to insurance consumers. After you meet all requirements for licensure, you must know, understand and abide by the laws, regulations and rules of procedure, which govern the business of insurance in Louisiana.
