What Is An Agency?

An agency is defined as a group of one or more agents working at the same business address, and usually under a common name who represent one or more insurers. In Georgia, every licensee is technically part of an agency, even if the agent is working independently, since an agency is more or less defined by its business address. The Georgia Insurance Department requires that every agency with a Georgia business address be licensed.
