What happens if a complaint is filed against me with the Wyoming Board of Medicine?

Complaints are reviewed within 30 days of the Board receiving a signed written complaint. This review is called a screening and determines whether a possible violation occurred and whether the Board has jurisdiction over the matter. If a possible violation occurred and the Board has jurisdiction then an investigation is initiated. Physician and layperson interviewers are used to obtain information during the investigation. After that the case is either dismissed, settled or a formal contested hearing is held at which a licensee may be sanctioned.
