What happens if a complaint is filed against me with the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts?
Once a complaint is filed, it is assigned to an investigator for investigation. Typically, the investigation involves obtaining and reviewing medical records and conducting relevant interviews. Given the detailed nature of the investigation, it can take several months to complete. Then the investigation results are reviewed by the Board or a staff attorney. The Board will then hear the case and make a decision about whether the case should be dismissed or the doctor should be sanctioned.
