Mississippi Code Annotated Section 41-23-29 provides that: The state board of health has to the power to isolate, quarantine or otherwise confine a person afflicted with an infectious STD. The board may create rules and regulations relevant to this power. Violation of those rules and regulations will be deemed a misdemeanor and is punishable by fine or imprisonment or both.
