What Information Is The Collector Required To Reveal To The Debtor?

Within five days of contact the collector is required to send the documentation of the amount of money that is owed to the creditor. The name of the creditor and what action will be taken if the debtor does not pay. The debtor must insist on all information at this point. In some cases collectors may not reveal the source or enough information. Even if the "debtor" knows it is not his/her debt, the more information you have the easier to fight it later.
