What Vehicles Are Covered Under The Lemon Law?
The law applies to cars and trucks (trucks with a maximum gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds) registered in Vermont within 15 days of purchase or lease, regardless of where purchased or leased. Your vehicle is covered, even if you are not the first owner, as long as the first of your three repair attempts or your 30 days out of use occurs before the expiration of the manufacturer`s express warranty.
The following table summarizes what is covered, how many times the vehicle has to be repaired for the same defect and the warranty period.

| Passenger motor vehicles and trucks under 10,000 pounds GVW. Does not include snowmobiles, motorcycles, mopeds, or the living portion of recreational vehicles. | 3 repair attempts or 30 calendar days out of service. | ||
