Defective Highway Design

Roads and highways in the United States are designed by professional engineers with an eye towards safety. However, an oversight in the design or construction phases might allow a defect to be built into the structure. If that design defect is known to the builder or designer and no repairs are made, you might be able to recover compensation as well as punitive damages. But you might find that the government agency that built the road or highway is immune to lawsuit. This varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. If you think you need legal counsel, please consult a licensed attorney.
