Can Liability Be Waived?

The waiver of liability is a document that releases whoever has written it from liability. If you're injured in an automobile accident and an insurance representative comes to you and asks you to sign a form, be sure of what you're signing. The interests of the insurance company might not be your own. They‘ll settle for the lowest amount possible, and by signing, you give up your rights to additional compensation. If you don't understand the document or are unsure, you might want to consult with a legal expert. If you do sign a waiver, you will not be able to sue that party for damages later. If you think you need legal counsel, please consult a licensed attorney.
