What are the Residency and Filing Requirements for Divorce in Wisconsin?

Residency is established in Wisconsin if one of the spouse’s has been a resident in the county where the action is filed for at least 6 months prior to filing for divorce.  (Wisconsin Statutes 767.301)  A divorce action should be brought in county Family Court.
