What are the Residency and Filing Requirements for Divorce in Ohio?

An Ohio divorce should be filed in the court of common pleas. (Ohio Revised Code, Title 31, Chapter 3105, Section 3105.011) An Ohio court has jurisdiction over a divorce proceeding if the plaintiff has been an Ohio resident for at least 6 months prior to filing for divorce.
