When do I need to update my voter registration in the state of Virginia?

In the state of Virginia, you must update your voter registration information with your local voter registration office if you move or change your name. These changes must be made prior to the regular deadlines for voter registration, i.e. twenty-nine (29) days prior to a general or primary election. You can update your voter registration information by filling out a new voter registration application.
