When do I need to update my voter registration in the state of Tennessee?

In the state of Tennessee, you must update your voter registration if you move or change your name. If you move within the same county, or change your name, you can change your voter registration information by filling out an updated voter registration application, which is also a change of name and/or address form, or by submitting a written request to change your name and/or address. You can mail, personally deliver, or email your application for the purposes of changing your name or address to the county election commission office. You must make these changes at least five (5) days prior to the election. However, if you move to another county in Tennessee, you must complete a new voter registration application in your new county. Like any new voter registration application, it must be completed and submitted at least thirty (30) days prior to the election, even if you have formerly voted in another Tennessee county.
