Do I have to reapply to vote by mail for each election in the state of California?

You may be eligible to obtain permanent vote-by-mail status, which means that your county board of elections will automatically mail you a vote-by-mail ballot prior to each election, and you will not have to reapply to vote by mail for each election in California. You can fill out an application that is available through your county elections office in order to obtain permanent vote-by-mail status. Once your application is approved, you will keep your vote-by-mail status permanently, unless you have failed to vote in two consecutive statewide general elections.
